Craftsmen
In 2000, McBride & Son's
contracting affiliates turned in more manhours and hired more craftsmen than ever before.
We have even more projects underway in 2001, and are planning expansions in carpentry,
foundations, and flatwork. This means we need you!
Services and Skills. We always have openings
for skilled craftsmen, as well as qualified apprentices. Crews are welcome, too. We
provide services in all aspects of building, and are interested in people with skills in
these areas:
- Carpentry
- Foundation
- Flatwork
- Lumber
- Roofing
- Painting and drywall
- Windows and siding
- Job site crane services

Compensation & Benefits. We offer
excellent compensation and extensive benefits to all our craftsmen. The benefits are set
by union contract, of course, but generally they include such benefits as paid time off
and health care coverage for employees and family members.
Safety. Job site safety is a major concern
throughout McBride. That's why we have a McBride Safety Incentive Program. We're proud to
say that, in the spring of 2000, we honored nearly 300 company craftsmen for job site
safety.
Training and Apprenticeships. Even for
skilled craftsmen, it's always possible to refine your craft, particularly when you work
side-by-side with the best in the business. We also offer a limited number of
apprenticeships in a variety of crafts to qualified applicants. If you enjoy working in a
craft, have an intense desire to learn, and are willing to take direction from experienced
craftsmen, let us hear from you. top
Project Managers
Our rapid growth in residential
operations in St. Louis, Illinois, Atlanta, Indianapolis, and Kansas City, as well as
expansion into other cities in the near future, enables McBride & Son Homes to always
look for seasoned managers as well as enthusiastic management trainees.
Services & Skills. Regardless of the
scope, every McBride home is managed by a Project Manager with extensive training and
experience in the McBride way of building. Project Managers are in charge of their
subdivision; be it one or several. The Project Manager will supervise the actions of their
superintendents and sales managers on a daily basis, and at the same time, focus their
attention on the estimating, advertising, finance, production, and customer service
details.
Let us hear from you if you have experience managing projects involving the construction
of single family, multi-family homes, or have been involved with the development of
subdivisions or master planned communities.

Training. If you become a Project Manager in
the McBride organization, you'll have the opportunity to learn the McBride way of
building. The amount of time required to learn the system will depend upon your skills and
experience coming in and the nature of the projects to be placed under your
responsibility.
Our training program for Project Managers includes: land acquisition and development;
products, pricing, and estimating; construction; sales and marketing; accounting; job site
computer technology; safety; and, the most important thing, customer satisfaction.
Compensation & Benefits. We offer
excellent compensation and extensive benefits to all our project managers. Benefits
include vacations, health care coverage for employees and family members with a share of
premium paid by the company, a cafeteria plan, and 401(k) savings. top
Superintendent
The fact that we have more building
sites in the Metropolitan St. Louis area than any other builder, and our residential
operations are growing in Illinois, Kansas City, Indianapolis and Atlanta, means we are
always looking for residential superintendents.
Services & Skills. Superintendents report
directly to the Project Manager and are responsible for the daily activities of each home
under construction. Each residential jobsite superintendent is in charge of coordinating
the subcontractors, scheduling and supervising the work, and conducting the final
walk-through with the homeowner.
Let us hear from you if you have experience supervising residential construction projects.
Check out our career positions or contact Randy Mathews at
314-336-0241, or e-mail rmathews@mcbridehomes.com
for more information.
Training. The amount of training will depend
upon your skills and experience. The Project Manager can best assess ones skills to
determine the best training available for a superintendent. Regardless of the experience
level, one will learn the McBride way of building a quality home.
Compensation & Benefits. We offer
excellent compensation and benefits to all residential superintendents. Benefits include
vacations and health care coverage for employees and family members with a share of the
premium paid by the company. top
Sales Managers
Our rapid growth in the development of
single-family and multi-family residential communities means we are always looking for
sales managers who are able to present our properties to potential buyers.
Services & Skills. The ability to close
the deal is the skill most required. In addition, successful sales managers are those with
excellent communication skills coupled with the ability to pay attention to the details.
Sales Managers are expected to write all contracts, have in-depth knowledge of their
development, and ultimately, be the liaison in the construction process with the homeowner
and the Project Manager.
Let us hear from you if you have experience in the sales field and would like an
opportunity to work for McBride & Son Homes. Check out our career
positions or contact Randy Mathews at 314-336-0241, or e-mail rmathews@mcbridehomes.com

Administrative
McBride & Son's contracting
affiliates could not have achieved a banner year in 2000 without the support of the
McBride & Son administrative staff, located in our headquarters in St. Louis. That's
why we say that everyone at McBride & Son is building something.
Services & Skills. We provide a wide
range of services in a variety of divisions, including:
- Accounting
- Human Resources
- Information Services
- Safety
- Sales and marketing
- Training and Development
Our plans for expansion, improved management training, and an increased use of
technology mean we may need your skills down the road even if an opening is not yet
posted. Check out our career positions or send your resume to Faye Peats
at fpeats@mcbrideandson.com
to be considered for future openings.
Compensation & Benefits. We offer
excellent compensation and extensive benefits to full-time administrative employees.
Currently, benefits include vacations, health care coverage for employees and family
members with a share of premium paid by the company, a cafeteria plan, and 401(k) savings.
Plus, assuming you meet all the requirements and the programs are still being offered,
after a few years of full-time service, you may have an opportunity to: receive tuition
reimbursement for work-related courses; receive a short-term loan toward the purchase of a
PC; and even take advantage of a discount on the purchase of a new McBride home. In
addition, qualified members of management have the option of participating in our stock
ownership plan. top |
